Chia is the common name for Salvia hispanica, a tiny seed with powerful nutritional and energy-giving properties. Chia seeds have been named a ‘Super Food’ for their various health benefits. There is no significant nutritional difference between black and white chia seeds. People often use them based on aesthetic preferences.
